WORKSHOP
Sonia Dawkins’ workshop is a truly unique and inspiring experience. Her vibrant energy and powerful motivation bring out the very best in every dancer, creating a space where participants feel encouraged to explore, grow, and express themselves freely. Through innovative movement, thoughtful guidance, and a deep passion for artistry, Sonia leads dancers on a transformative journey of self-discovery. Her enthusiasm radiates through every movement, leaving participants inspired, empowered, and eager to dance more.
In her own words: As an instructor of repertoire, I use selections from the choreography I have created for professional theatre productions and dance companies. These examples offer a variety of styles and form, which illustrate movement at the foundation of ballet, contemporary and modern dance. As a guiding principle of my teaching is to help lead artists toward recognition of their own distinctive, personal sense of movement, or “voice,” I have found that actual vocalizing can complement this physical expression.»
